These Terms of Service and Privacy Policy govern your use of SCI Group Buy services as a consumer.

Part 1: Terms of Service

1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By subscribing to SCI Group Buy’s email list or participating in any Deal, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

2. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE

SCI Group Buy operates a group purchasing service that:

  • Sends email notifications about group buying opportunities for adaptive equipment
  • Facilitates group purchases to achieve volume discounts
  • Coordinates between customers and manufacturers/vendors

3. EMAIL SUBSCRIPTION

Joining the email list is free and creates no obligation to buy.

3.1 Subscription Requirements

  • You must provide a valid email address
  • You must be at least 18 years old or have parental consent
  • No verification of disability status is required

3.2 Communication Preferences

  • All Deal notifications are sent via email only
  • You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email
  • We do not use phone, text, or postal mail for Deal communications

4. PARTICIPATION IN DEALS

4.1 Deal Commitment Process

  • Deals require written commitment via email or online form
  • Commitments become obligations to pay invoices when minimum participation thresholds are met
  • If minimum threshold is not met, no obligation exists

4.2 Payment Terms

  • Invoices sent after successful Deal window closure
  • Payment due within terms specified on invoice (typically 10-14 days)
  • Accepted payment methods will be specified on each invoice
  • Sales tax will be added as required by applicable law

4.3 Deal Participation Rules

  • One purchase per customer per Deal unless otherwise specified
  • Pricing is confidential and not to be shared publicly
  • Deal windows have specific deadlines that will be strictly enforced

5. PRODUCT FULFILLMENT

5.1 Shipping and Delivery

  • Products ship directly from manufacturers/vendors to you
  • Tracking information provided when available
  • Delivery timeframes are estimates; delays may occur

5.2 Product Issues

  • Product quality, warranties, and support are manufacturer’s responsibility
  • Returns and exchanges are at the discretion of the manufacturer.
  • SCI Group Buy does not provide product support or accept returns

6. PRICING AND PAYMENTS

6.1 Pricing Accuracy

  • Group prices are confidential and subject to change between Deals
  • Prices include product cost; shipping may be additional
  • Sales tax added as required by law

6.2 Payment Processing

  • Invoices generated after successful Deal completion
  • Late payment may result in suspension from future Deals
  • Refunds only issued if Deal minimum threshold not met or manufacturer fails to deliver

7. PROHIBITED USES

You may not:

  • Share Deal pricing publicly or on social media
  • Resell products purchased through SCI Group Buy for commercial purposes
  • Use false information when participating in Deals
  • Attempt to circumvent Deal minimums or requirements

8. LIABILITY LIMITATIONS

8.1 SCI Group Buy Liability

Our liability is limited to:

  • Refunding your payment if products are not delivered due to our error
  • Facilitating communication with manufacturers for product issues

8.2 Disclaimer of Warranties

  • We make no warranties about product quality, safety, or suitability
  • All products sold “as is” with manufacturer warranties only
  • We do not endorse or guarantee any specific outcomes from product use

8.3 Limitation of Damages

In no event shall SCI Group Buy be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages exceeding the amount you paid for the specific transaction.

9. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

9.1 Product Disputes

Product-related disputes must be resolved directly with the manufacturer following their standard warranty and return procedures.

9.2 Service Disputes

Disputes with SCI Group Buy will be resolved through binding arbitration in Virginia under American Arbitration Association Consumer Arbitration Rules.

Part 2: Privacy Policy

10. INFORMATION WE COLLECT FROM YOU

  • Email addresses for subscription and communication
  • Names and shipping addresses for Deal participation
  • Role and connection to SCI for subscriber segmentation
  • Product interest for market research
  • Payment information for transaction processing
  • Communication history for customer service

11. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

  • Send Deal notifications and updates
  • Process transactions and coordinate fulfillment
  • Provide customer service and support
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve service (in aggregate only)

12. INFORMATION SHARING

12.1 Limited Sharing

We share information only as necessary:

  • Customer shipping information with manufacturers for fulfillment
  • Payment information with payment processors
  • Legal disclosures as required by law
  • Business transfers (with notice to users)

12.2 No Marketing Sales

We do not sell, rent, or trade email addresses or personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

13. DATA SECURITY

13.1 Security Measures

  • Limited access to personal information on need-to-know basis
  • Regular security audits and updates
  • Secure payment processing through certified vendors

13.2 Data Retention

  • Subscriber data is retained indefinitely

13.3 Your Rights

  • Request copy of your personal information
  • Request to update or correct inaccurate information
  • Request to delete your account and associated data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Opt out of email communications at any time

14. COOKIES AND TRACKING

14.1 Limited Use

We use minimal tracking:

  • Essential cookies for website functionality
  • Basic analytics to understand email engagement
  • No advertising or behavioral tracking cookies

14.2 Third-Party Services

Part 3: General Provisions

15. CHANGES TO TERMS

  • Continued use constitutes acceptance of changes
  • Right to terminate subscription/partnership if you disagree with changes

16. TERMINATION

  • Unsubscribe at any time using email link
  • Account deletion upon request
  • Outstanding payment obligations remain

17. GOVERNING LAW

These terms are governed by Virginia law. Disputes will be resolved in Virginia courts or through arbitration as specified above.

18. SEVERABILITY

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder of these terms remain in effect.

19. ENTIRE AGREEMENT

These terms, together with individual partnership agreements, constitute the complete agreement between you and SCI Group Buy.
